Our special expertise in Liverpool lies in our Skillstep to Success course. Skillstep is a free, part time 12-week course for up to 6 people. The course is divided into different units covering Information Technology, Mobility, Independence Skills, Personal and Social Development, Work Experience and Vocational skills

Skillstep to Success

The Skillstep programme aims to identify a suitable progression route for each student then build on the skills needed to progress along their chosen route. We have been very successful in finding new opportunities for people who have become isolated due to their visual impairment.

We see the course as the first step to building confidence and skills for new career opportunities, further education or voluntary work. The course is delivered by Henshaws specialist staff with support from local agencies.

At the end of the Skillstep programme, students are awarded Open College Network Accredited units, which are recognised by further education establishments and employers.
