A unique training course preparing visually impaired adults to take the next step into voluntary or paid work or further education.

Skillstep to Success is Henshaws unique training course for visually impaired people who want to regain lost skills, learn new ones and gain the confidence they need to get into work or further education. The 12 week course covers general office skills, mobility and a range of skills development opportunities as well as a work placement. After they graudate, students have gone on to set up their own businesses, take on further education challenges and go into full time employment or voluntary work. Crucialy, Skillstep gives people options for a more positive future under their own control.

The course is divided into different units covering Information Technology, Mobility, Independence Skills, Personal and Social Development, Work Experience and Vocational skills
