'I believe that when a child loses their sight, they do not lose their sense of fun. Henshaws Children and Family service provides the support, education and opportunities to ensure that there is no reason why a blind or visually impaired child cannot overcome the barriers created by their visual impairment and enjoy a happy, active and fulfilling childhood. And I believe that it is up to each one of us to try and help these children to have fun. Please help Henshaws to continue providing this vital service.

"The Coronation Street cast are delighted to support Henshaws and to have the opportunity to start the ball rolling towards their £5 million fundraising target. It was lovely for us all to meet Sam, who has benefited so much from Henshaws services - the whole cast agreed that he was definitely the star of the show!"

"It has been my pleasure to attend Henshaws Carols by Candlelight Concert for several years running, where I have given readings and had the opportunity to meet with people who use Henshaws' services.
I feel that it is vital to remember people who are blind or visually impaired in the local community. Sight loss can have devastating effects socially, economically and in terms of an individual's self-esteem. Henshaws is doing all it can to help people of all ages in that difficult situation and we should do all we can to support their important work."
William Roache MBE

"We are pleased to support Henshaws Society for Blind People, who are based in Manchester very near to Manchester United, but who have centres across the north of England.
It was good to meet Brandon recently, who uses Henshaws' Children & Family Services. It's important that people everywhere do everything they can to support Henshaws' work so that even more children and families benefit."

"I first heard about Henshaws when I was asked to take part in the charity's World Record Attempt. On that day, I realised what fantastic work they are already doing and also the huge funding needs required to carry out their good work in the future.
I would feel very happy if you were to follow me in lending a hand their fundraising events and activities."

'I think it is really important for everyone to achieve their full potential in life. This can be especially difficult for a blind or visually impaired person. Henshaws College in Harrogate provides young visually impaired people with specialist mobility and independent living training - helping people to reach their goals. Please support Henshaws in any way you can'

'I am delighted to support Henshaws. They do tremendous and vital work for visually impaired and blind people across the north of England. My own father, a Lancashire lad, was virtually blind for many years so I know something of the trials and tribulations which the condition can impose on sufferers and their families.
Please do something to help Henshaws make a difference'

'Henshaws have a wonderful horticultural workshop and sensory garden at their Arts and Crafts centre in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. Here, visually impaired young people can enjoy the stimulating smells and textured foliage from a range of flowers and plants they have grown themselves. This is a fantastic achievement for these young gardeners, many of whom may also have additional disabilities.
Please give Henshaws all your support, and why not pop along to the centre and visit the sensory garden yourself !'

"Henshaws is a charity that's been around since 1837 supporting blind and partially sighted people in the local community where I live in Manchester and beyond. It's important to remember charities that are close to home, especially when their work is so vital and so much appreciated by everyone you talk to who has used their services. Henshaws is a charity that's very close to my heart."
John Henshaw
"Henshaws is a great charity, doing some fantastic work with blind and visually impaired people. When I supported the Henshaws' world record attempt recently, it was a fun way of getting my goalie hands preserved. I was glad to be able to help the charity set a world record at the same time!"

"When I took part in Henshaws' World Record Attempt, it was actually my third world record - the other two being my double Olympic swimming medals. It was fantastic to see everybody joining in to help break the record. Henshaws is clearly making a huge difference to the lives of many thousands of blind and visually impaired people. Keep up the good work Henshaws!"
